In Memoriam – Seymour Burchman

In Memoriam Seymour Burchman

Our friend and longtime colleague Seymour Burchman passed away on January 24, 2023. We are all deeply saddened and our hearts go out to his family and loved ones.

Seymour joined us as a Partner in 2005 and was instrumental in building the Firm. He retired from client work several years ago but remained an active Senior Advisor.

Seymour embodied our values of client focus and collaboration. He was relentless. He had an infinite capacity to debate, problem-solve, and push all of us and himself with one purpose – to make sure we thought about every possible angle of the issue at hand. Collectively we are better advisors because of his immense creativity and dogged pursuit of knowledge.

Seymour was a dynamic and prolific thought leader. He initiated, evolved, and refined many frameworks that continue to inform our work. He wrote and spoke about responsible business practices being the foundation of sustained competitive advantage long before ESG became a catchphrase. And he supported all of us in brainstorming, collaborating, and editing countless articles, speeches, and research.

Seymour’s goodwill, creativity, and persistence will be deeply missed.
